While the Skoda faithful have been waiting for new about the launch of the Kodiaq in India, there seems to be another vehicle in the pipline, the launch of which should happen sooner. TeamBHP has reported a spy shot of the facelifted 2017 Skoda Octavia in India, and the changes are clear because it was on the road without any camouflage.
The 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift was spotted on the highway near Aurangabad. Without any camouflage on, the changes on the facelifted 2017 model are evident and frankly speaking, there’s not much of it.
Going by the spy shot, the India-spec model seems to have borrowed heavily from the global model. The global model of the Skoda Octavia was announced in October of 2016.
What Skoda fans should expect is a new front grille, with split headlamps on either side, that seems to flow inwards towards the three dimensional Skoda grille. The headlights also get LED technology and showcase DRLs using the same.
Moving a bit low, there’s the revised bumper that now features a larger air dam. Moving to the rear, expect minor changes to the tail lights.
Inside, expect changes to the dashboard layout compared to the outgoing model, but these again are expected to be minor, save for the inclusion of a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
As for the powertrain options, expect them to be identical to the outgoing models. This would include a 1.4-litre TSI petrol coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission and another 1.8-litre option with a 7-speed DSG system. As always there will also be a 2.0 TDI diesel with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
