At a recent AGM (not to be confused with AMG), BMW announced the arrival of a new concept car, one that would provide us with an good idea about how BMW’s upcoming 8 Series Coupe would look like.

The teaser posted by BMW is a silhouette of an upcoming concept car that will be unveiled at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on 26 May 2017. The announcement was made by none other than Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG Harald Krüger; who said that BMW would also present a design study at this year’s event.

While all-eyes will be on this concept luxury coupe at the event, it will provide an accurate idea about what the upcoming BMW 8 Series Coupe will look like. BMW claims that its concept design embodies uncompromising dynamics and contemporary luxury that should result in what BMW terms as the modern BMW coupe.

The BMW 8 Series Coupe will build on our tradition of luxurious sports coupes and add a genuine dream car to our line-up – a slice of pure automotive fascination,” says Krüger, looking ahead to the new model. “The 8 Series Coupe will underpin our claim to leadership in the luxury segment. I can tell you today that this will be a true luxury sports coupe.”

We have already seen plenty of spy shots of the BMW 8 Series coupe in testing. The vehicle will take the S-Class coupe by Mercedes head on and will in a way look similar to BMW’s Gran Lusso concept which was showcased by BMW last year.

AutomobileMag states that the mule, which was spied upon during testing, is expected to pack in either a 3.0-litre straight six that should deliver about 450 hp, or a 600-650hp version of a 4.4-litre V8.
