Skoda will launch the much-awaited 2017 Skoda Octavia on 13 July. The sedan which was globally launched by the company in October 2016, will finally make its way to the Indian market.

While changes on the new Octavia are mostly on the inside. On the outside of the new Octavia, we find dual split LED headlights, redesigned bumpers, new alloys and revisions to the LED tail lamps, as reported in an earlier spy shot.

The major changes are on the inside. A two-tone upholstery, brushed aluminium-effect plastic door pads, bigger touchscreen central console with connectivity to Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link make the cabin seem more premium than the previous model.

As for the powertrain options, expect them to be identical to the outgoing models. This would include a 1.4-litre TSI petrol coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission and another 1.8-litre option with a 7-speed DSG system. There will also be a 2.0 TDI diesel variant with 6-speed automatic transmission.

The previous generation of the Octavia was introduced in India back in 2013 and has been able to keep sales up in a struggling segment, as claimed by Overdrive. The new Skoda Octavia is expected to cost Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 than the current generation, though final prices will be unveiled on 13 July.
