After denying it several times, it seems that Ferrari is working on building its own luxury SUV. According to a report by Car,  the vehicle is currently under development and has a rather odd ‘F16X’ codename.

If Ferrari does confirm the news, this year will see the first ever Ferrari SUV to be announced in the company’s history, one that has so far stuck to the luxury grand tourers, supercars and hypercars in the past.

The vehicle according to a couple of artist renders is expected to look similar to the Ferrari FF or the recent announced Ferrari GTC4 Lusso shooting brake. The SUV it will sit higher offering better ground clearance but is expected to maintained the aerodynamic look akin to the rest of the Ferrari lineup.

Being a luxury SUV that will compete with Lamborghini’s Urus SUV, this Ferrari will go fast not just over road, but even off-road. But expect this one to be more of a soft-roader than an off-roader.

Ferrari also has its all-wheel drive (AWD) system in place like on previous models like the FF, which have improvised over time.

According to the source, Ferrari will go in for a V12 engine combined with electric motors and will cost in excess of $3,42,045. The Italian sports car maker has yet to confirm any of this information so we suggest you take the above with a pinch of salt.
