The 2017 GSX-R1000 get a newly developed litre-class engine, improved aerodynamics, updated electronics and sheds some weight. It is based on the concept that was revealed at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show and is said to be one of the best updated litre-class Gixxers since eight years. Suzuki has also used technology from MotoGP, which makes this version quite interesting.

The 1000 cc four-cylinder engine on the Suzuki GSX-R1000 gets Euro 4 emission standards and comes with variable valve timing (VVT). The VVT uses ball bearings that move along the cam gear and change their orientation as it spins faster. The engine length has also been reduced. Thanks to the improvement in the engine, the GSX offers 202 PS of power at 13,200 rpm along with 117.6 Nm of peak torque available at 10,800 rpm.
