Acer has announced the launch of its new Windows Phone handset, the Allegro, as reported by WPCentral. The phone runs on a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM 8255 processor and it comes with a 1300mAh battery which provides approximately six hours of talk time, according to Acer. As part of the features, there’s a light sensor, accelerometer as well as a proximity sensor.
The Acer Allegro
Here are the currently available specs of the device:
- 3.6-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution
- 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
- GPS with A-GPS support
- Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR
- 5 megapixel camera with LED flash
- 8GB internal storage
The phone is expected to be a little cheaper than the Nokia Lumia 710. However, pricing and availability for India hasn’t been disclosed. There are chances that the phone will be available in both black and white colour schemes. So, if Acer gets the pricing at least a little competitive for the Indian market, this phone might just make a splash because the hardware is what you’d expect from a high end smartphone and the operating system, Windows Phone 7 brings its own charm as well.
