Activision may be the equivalent of a gigantic money grabbing goblin but surprisingly they aren’t interested in dabbling with casual games, a market that’s been growing at a staggering rate.

In fact in a recent interview with Reuters, Activision’s CEO Bobby ‘every gamer hates me’ Kotick said he wasn’t particularly impressed with Apple’s App Store because he felt it wasn’t suited for “dedicated gamers”. He also added that Activision had no plans to develop games for Tablets or the iPad in the near future.

One of the main reasons Kotick can afford to ignore this market is because Activision owns the Call of Duty brand, which well know has generated an obscene amount of money for them over the years. The latest iteration in the CoD franchise, Black Ops has made a mind-numbing $650 million till date earning itself the moniker of the fastest selling entertainment property of all time.

Besides this they’re about to release World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, an expansion to the world’s most popular MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) sometime this month. And we all know how much that’s going to make.
