Following TRAI’s orders, Airtel was the first telecom company to announce its detailed bills for prepaid users. Now, coming back with additional benefits for prepaid users, yet again, Airtel has announced two new offers – Recharge 11 (RC11) and Recharge 29 (RC29). These packs have been designed for texting and calling benefits, but haven't been made available to everyone, just yet.

New prepaid offers…

Airtel calls it the Talk around the Clock RCV 29 offer that brings in 120 local Airtel-to-Airtel minutes for its prepaid users in Assam. So, basically, it is cost-effective at 24 paise per minute. This pack is available at just Rs.29 and it comes with validity of up to 5 days. The Message Mania SMS Pack 11 is for its customers in Assam as well as the other north eastern regions. Prepaid users can recharge their phones with Rs.11 and get 110 Local and National SMS across all the networks. The telecom provider has decided to craft this offer at just Rs.11 to offer greater value to the masses.

Commenting on the launch of these packs, George Mathen, CEO NESA, Bharti Airtel said, “At Airtel, it is our constant endeavor to offer products and services that are innovative, affordable and relevant for our customers. We are confident that the launch of these Packs will offer great value for friends on Airtel and allow them to keep in touch with each other at affordable prices.

Recently, the telecom operator has been going through a rough patch, if we may say so. Airtel was lately summoned by the court, along with Loop and Idea for violating MNP rules. TRAI, the regulatory body, which has been very vocal in the past about operators’ adherence to the MNP norms, found that the aforementioned operators were rejecting the porting requests of their subscribers, across various circles like Mumbai, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and others, thereby causing inconvenience. Besides, Airtel was also pulled up by HC for DND irregularities. Reportedly, Advocate K Ramakrishna Reddy had to take the matter to the Madras High Court when he realized that the popular national mobile service provider had been pushing promotional calls and messages to the cell phones of several customers.
