Bharti Airtel recently announced free national roaming on calls and data. But looks like its offers were not limited to that. According to a report in The Economic Times, a new ‘Airtel Surprise’ offer will give postpaid customers the option to activate 30GB of free 4G data via the MyAirtel app.
Airtel is offering 30GB of free 4G data – 10GB per month for three months – absolutely free of cost. You simply enter into the MyAirtel app and you will see a banner ad saying ‘Enjoy India’s Fastest Network with Free Internet’. There is a Claim Now button below it. Clicking on that activates the offer for postpaid users.
According to Gopal Vittal, CEO of Bharti Airtel, this offer is a celebration of the fact that Airtel was adjudicated as India’s fastest mobile network by Ookla. Vittal has also wished postpaid users a Happy Holi.
“You know our celebrations would be incomplete without you. And we want to thank our valued postpaid customer, you, for being part of our journey. Because words don’t suffice, we would like to give you an Airtel Surprise,” said Vittal.
More recently, Airtel announced two new offers for its customers. By paying the amount of Rs 345 (Rs 349 in some regions) in March customers would be entitled to get 1GB of data and unlimited local and nation calls to any network for a month and the offer would be valid for the coming 12 months. Of course, you would have to recharge with that amount every month. Similarly there is the Rs 145 (Rs 149 in some regions) recharge where customers get 2GB of data valid for a month and unlimited Airtel-to-Airtel local and national calling. You should note that that this offer will be only be valid for customers who own a 4G handset.
-Rs 345 offer: Free local and STD calls to any network, 1GB daily data limit (500MB day + 500MB night)
-Rs 145 offer: Free Airtel-to-Airtel calls local and national, 2GB data per month
Airtel will also be offering free incoming calls and SMS on national roaming and no premium charges on outgoing calls starting 1 April. The company also said that there will be no additional data charges on national roaming. Home data packs for customers will apply even while they roam across India.
