If you were one of the many people who held off on buying the iPhone 4S because you preferred to wait for the iPhone 5, then 12 September is likely to be a very important date in your life.
Tech site iMore which was the first to announce that the iPhone 5 would be released in September has released another report, saying it would be available for pre order on the very date it is die to be launched.
The report said, “The information on Apple pre-orders comes from sources that have provided iMore with accurate iPhone related launch dates in the past. The information on the international launches comes from sources that have provided our network, Mobile Nations, with accurate information in the past”.
If proved to be true, this would mark a departure from how Apple usually releases its products, since it usually waits a few days after the announcement to begin pre-orders.
The iMore report added that the second wave of product launches, usually to a wider circle of countries, would take place in the first week of October.
Apple is planning a major product launch on 12 September, stoking speculation that the world’s most valuable technology company will announce the sale of its redesigned iPhone.
Apple shipments in the June quarter tumbled 26 percent on the previous quarter as the European economy sagged and consumers held off on buying ahead of the release of the iPhone 5.
