Amazon launched its new service, Login with Amazon  yesterday. The service will allow the roughly 200 million active customers on Amazon to login to apps, games and websites, in a secure and simple way. Login with Amazon will also allow developers to reduce the sign-in friction experience for their customers, which they believe will lead to higher levels of engagement and order conversion. 

The service is available for free to developers of apps, games, and websites, and is easy to integrate. It is based on the OAuth 2.0 authorisation framework, allowing developers to leverage a widely-adopted open protocol.


For secure and safe login

The service provides app developers the ability to use Amazon Web Services' (AWS) technology platform for their infrastructure needs. With tools like Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), and Amazon DynamoDB, developers can focus on the factors that set their app apart. Then there is GameCircle, which includes, Achievements, Leaderboards, Friends and Whispersync for syncing games across devices. It also offers in-app purchasing on Kindle Fire, Mac, PC and web-based games. This way, developers can offer items in their apps and games, so users can plainly use their Amazon accounts to make the purchase. The service also makes space for A/B testing, which helps developers improve app functionality, since it can simultaneously test two different in-app experiences before picking the more successful one before finally launching it.

Game Connect lets developers list their virtual goods for sale on Amazon, thereby making their games increasingly discoverable, while making the purchase of virtual goods easier and convenient for users. Developers can submit their apps to the Amazon AppStore, and it is distributed to nearly 200 countries globally. This way developers can reach millions of Amazon customers worldwide.
