Amazon’s web service EC2 was in news last week, for all the wrong reasons. As we reported last week, an unknown glitch had practically pulled the plug on the popular retail brand’s equally popular web service, EC2.

sprung back..

From Amazon, with love!

The web services of EC2 are widely popular among several companies that have now comforted their services by fully integrating it with EC2. Therefore, the sudden outage took all of these companies by surprise, and an unpleasant one at that. Amazon now fully realizing the gravity of the situation has announced that it will offer a 10-day credit to all those who’ve been affected by the sudden server outage, either directly or indirectly.

Although, Amazon has not clearly come out with how much this said credit would cost it, it has announced the same. Its web services, although quite popular, account for a very meager percentage of Amazon’s total revenue pie.
