Angry Birds for iPhone and iPod Touch as well as Angry Birds HD for iPad got an update yesterday. 15 new levels in the Ham 'em High series as well as three additional 'like us on Facebook levels' and a new Golden egg. However, Rovio also added ads this time around. And these ads aren't for anyone else but themselves. When you hit the pause button on the top left of your screen, you also get a 'Rovio News' bulletin in the middle of your screen which has ads for Angry Birds Seasons, Liking Angry Birds on Facebook, Trailers for Angry Birds Rio and Mighty Eagle as well as an ad for plush toys.
Adding ads makes fans sad
This has massively peeved fans off. For starters, Angry Birds is a paid game and on principle, users really shouldn't be getting ads. What's more, this Rovio News screen slows down the process of either restarting the level or going back to the menu. It will be interesting to see if Rovio removes these ads in their next update, or as soon as possible, or even never at all.
