So when the iPad reached Indian shores sometime back in January, many users were (and still are) disgruntled about Apple bringing the tablet so late. Now there are a few things happening on the iPad 2 front. First of all, the tablet has been up for orders at HomeShop 18 and if you notice, the prices are really sky high. The basic Wi-Fi only 16 GB version is priced at Rs. 34, 900!

Too good to be true? Let's hope not!

The next bit of news that we caught online is that the iPad 2 will be launching next week. There’s no official confirmation as such, but it seems that Apple’s COO, Tim Cook had mentioned of the tablet hitting thirteen more countries and India is supposedly one amongst them. What’s more is that the iPad 2 will be on sale through popular electronics retailers like Vijay Sales, Croma and Reliance iStores.

If that doesn’t sound exciting enough, then this one is absolute music to the ears and something that most of us will be hoping for. Apparently, the iPad 2 will not be higher than the first iteration, the iPad. Rather, the tablet will have the same prices as the iPad. This means, the 16 GB Wi-Fi version will set you back by Rs. 27,900 and it will go up to Rs. 44,900 for the 64 GB Wi-Fi + 3G version. Again, this hasn’t been officially confirmed but let’s keep our fingers crossed!
