Apple has finally taken the covers off the long-delayed White variant of the iPhone 4. We told you about the possibility of the White iPhone 4 releasing towards the end of April, and that has now come true via an official announcement by Apple. “The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it's beautiful,” said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “We appreciate everyone who has waited patiently while we've worked to get every detail right.”
While we’re certainly curious about what details exactly they worked to get right – considering this variant has identical features to the original iPhone 4, including FaceTime and the Retina Display – we’ll leave it at that because there were rumours of the manufacturing delay actually being caused by the paint peeling off the phone in hot conditions.
The White iPhone 4 goes on sale on April 28, and has contract subsidised prices of $199 (~Rs. 9,000) and $299 (~Rs. 13,000) for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively. Meanwhile in India, we’re still waiting for the older and darker sibling to come out, so there’s no telling when this version will make it here.
