If you're an Apple fan or just someone who appreciates improvements in technology, then the announcement of Apple’s latest operating system for their smartphone platform, iOS 6 may have left a lingering smile. At the keynote event at the Worldwide Developers Conference, the headline grabbing announcements, besides iOS 6 was the unveiling of the latest MacBook line-up and the new features found on their upcoming Mac OS, Mountain Lion. However, the brand has also released another update to iTunes – iTunes 10.6.3 and it is available for download for the Windows and Mac platforms.
iTunes gets updated
With an update to iTunes 10.6.3, Apple has now issued their media manager to support the latest operating system, iOS 6. Here is a quick look at some of the other features available post the latest update to iTunes besides the support for Mountain Lion:
- Addresses a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive when syncing an iPad (1st generation) that contains an iBooks textbook
- Fixes a problem where photos synced to a device may appear in an unexpected order
- Resolves an issue where iTunes may unexpectedly delete playlists created on a device
- Fixes issues where iTunes may unexpectedly delete apps on a device
- Improves overall performance and reliability
The update consumes a storage space of 170 MB for OS X users, while Windows users will have to shell out 75 MB of space. This update is available for download via Apple software updates or one can download it by clicking the link here.
Apple previewed iOS 6 recently, introducing over 200 new features to their mobile operating system, and released a beta version to iOS Developer Program members. iOS 6 will be available to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users this fall as a free software update. New iOS 6 features include: an all new Maps app with Apple-designed cartography, turn-by-turn navigation and a new Flyover view; new Siri features, including support for more languages, easy access to sports scores, restaurant recommendations and movie listings; Facebook integration for Contacts and Calendar, with the ability to post directly from Notification Center, Siri and Facebook-enabled apps like Photos, Safari and Maps; Shared Photo Streams via iCloud; and Passbook, the simplest way to get all of one’s passes in one place.
