Apple’s iPhone 5s might just have been launched but the rumour mills are already spinning about when the next iPhone, the iPhone 6 could be released. Now according to the New York Post, the new version of the iPhone could be out by the summer of 2014 and it will come with a bigger screen.
The report is based on a research note byPiper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster and the report says that Munster “expects Apple’s sixth-generation iPhone to come with “a larger screen option,” and that he thinks it could be a “blockbuster.”
Previously well-known Jefferies analyst Peter Misek said in a client note that Apple’s next iPhone 6 could come with a 4.8-inch screen. According to an Associated Press report, Misek said in a client note that “Apple’s suppliers have become more lenient on price, which is helping the company’s gross margin.” He also added that “there is excitement over the iPhone 6 because it will have a 4.8 inch screen.”
In addition to the Associated Press report, Wall Street Journal had also reported that Apple had begun testing screens with 4.8 inches to 6 inches. The report had cited sources with company and also said that suppliers had indicated that Apple was already began testing larger screens for iPhones. An iPhone with a 4.8-inch screen seemed to be the most favoured at Apple, according to the news report.
As far as the new iPhone is concerned, we could see a bigger screen. But its unlikely that Apple will launch the phone in the summer, since that is usually reserved for Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference.
