We recently put up a piece on how Apple is putting time and money into developing cheaper iPhones and coming up with more software services for their devices. But sources say they’ve got some more tricks up their sleeve.

The new version will hopefully be way better

This development we're talking about is the revamp of Apple’s online storage facility, MobileMe. Currently, the service only allows you to store data in a central location and synchronize you contacts and calendars with computers and other devices. But Apple is now thinking bigger and will possibly make MobileMe a proper online storage facility that will allow users to store their personal stuff like music, videos and photos. This will make it a lot easier for users, as they will now be able to access their content virtually anywhere instead of lugging it around in large devices. This could very well be a huge step towards a much larger goal, as Apple has been working on a new online music service for over a year now. It could also have a lot to do with social networking.

This new MobileMe service will have a lot of advantages, as users will be able to access it via iTunes or even iPhones and iPads. This service is likely to be made public as early as June. I'd definitely use a service like this if, but only if I had a better internet connection at home.
