It's been barely a week or so since ASUS showed off their Windows 7 tablet, the ASUS Eee Slate EP121 over at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011 in Las Vegas. It certainly does look like the device is getting fast tracked to release though, because it has shown up on the Microsoft Store.

On a highway to release

The 12-inch Windows 7 tablet is up for pre-order at around Rs. 50,000 ($1,099) and comes with a Core i5 processor (!), a 64GB SSD for storage, HDMI out, a webcam, 4GB of RAM and connectivity options that include WiFi and Bluetooth. The price is a bit on the highside, but considering its size and power it could easily turn into a netbook hybrid with the use of a keyboard dock.

The device is not only up for pre-order, but also shows a delivery date of January 24th, which is a week from now! While this is the US Microsoft Store and there's no news on an Indian release yet, this is quite the development and we hope we hear something about the tablet making it to our shores sometime soon.
