Asus is no stranger to customized graphics cards, we’ve seen their handy work in the GTX 580 Direct CU II and similarly with the GTX 570 as well. Recently, the company launched yet another version of the GTX 580 called the R.O.G Matrix edition in India for an MRP of Rs.32,435. We first saw this card at Computex 2011, and today it’s available for purchase.
Not too different from its smaller sibling
At first glance, you’ll notice it bears a striking resemblance to the ENGTX 580 Direct CU II that we reviewed, not too long ago. It’s actually not that different when you look at them side by side. The only thing that’s changed is the core speed which is set at 816MHz, a lot higher than the one we tested. But apart from that and a little design change in the heatsink cover, it’s essentially the same card so it’s good that Asus hasn’t priced it exorbitantly just for the Republic of Gamers badge.
