Asus has launched a new Windows 8 based tablet in India, the Transformer Book TX300 which is priced at Rs 91,999. Asus says that it is the world’s thinnest Window 8 tablet and detachable notebook.

The TX300 is a 13.3-inch notebook with a detachable tablet. It comes with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors options. There is also one version of the device that runs Windows 8 Professional.

Since the keyboard is detachable, users can use the device as both a tablet and a notebook with a touchscreen. It has two types of internal storage device. The tablet has a 128GB SSD or flash drive while the notebook has a 500 GB hard drive space.

The screen size is 13.3-inches and the notebook comes with IPS, full HD and and a 178 degree viewing angle.

The Asus Transformer Book also has a backlit keyboard with ambient light control that automatically adjusts its brightness to suit the surroundings. It has up to five hours of battery life in notebook mode and eight hours in tablet mode. It has a front 720p HD and a rear 5-megapixel camera.


The Asus Transformer Book will be available in India across select Asus authorised retail outlets starting second week of July 2013.
