Beetel splashes an all new touchscreen mobile phone, dubbed GD 777 on the occasion of Holi. The company puts it across as a festive offering for the Indian market. The new touchscreen phone from the company sports a 3.5-inch full touchscreen and has an affordable price tag attached that reads Rs.5,499. Beetel is a Bharti Enterprises group company, which had entered the tablet race, last year with the Magiq. This tablet was soon followed by its successor – Magiq Glide.

The Beetel GD 777 embeds a capacitive touch screen that touts to offer superior user experience. The Beetel GD 777 also has been integrated with a 5 MP camera with zoom. It comes with an expandable memory up to 16GB to load your data and features, and FM Radio.

While unveiling the product, Mr. Vinod Sawhny – Executive Director & CEO, Beetel Teletech Limited, said, “GD 777 is a product from our stable to provide high-end features that the mass audience aspire to have in their mobile phones. This innovative product is designed after extensive market research which indicated that there is a huge demand for affordable feature phones and customers are looking for more options in the category.

Besides, the phone promises enhanced browsing and downloading capabilities with support for Java, GPRS, WAP and EDGE. One will also find features such as messenger service, 3D games in the device and can also be used as a webcam. It is packed with several social networking and infotainment features, like Facebook and Ibibo.

The touch ability is slowly entering the low-end market segment. Earlier we saw Wyncomm launch the Touch n Type phone at an affordable price. We also saw touch phones from companies like Fly, Maxx Mobiles and Intex. It recently put forth the Sense touch phone. This full touch phone with a 3.2-inch display is selling for Rs.3,690.
