September is going to be a heavy month for tech enthusiasts. From Kindle Fire 2 and the iPhone 5 to a flood of Windows 8 smartphones, here’s a quick look at the main devices that are out this month.

The Nokia Lumia 920: This one is out today and will run on Windows 8 OS for mobile. The stakes are incredibly high for both Nokia, who are looking to revive themselves, and Microsoft, who will be hoping that at long last Windows will be able to project itself as a viable third option to Android and iOS.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is rumoured to have a wireless charging pad, a distinguishing feature. It will come with a dual-core processor, 32GB space, PureView Camera branding with an 8 megapixel rear camera. But it’s the Windows 8 experience that will make or break this device.

Amazon’s Kindle Fire 2: Amazon.com Inc’s new Kindle Fire is going to be released on Thursday. This is seen as big competitor to Google’s Nexus 7, which is also sold for less than $200. Interestingly, Kindle Fire 2 will no longer have the Google maps app but instead Amazon has tied up with Nokia Oyj for the service.

According to ZDNet, the Kindle Fire is likely to see a higher screen resolution – up from 1024 x 600 pixels to 1280 x 800. The Kindle Fire 2 could also face competition from an iPad mini which could be launched by Apple in October.

iPhone 5: One of the most awaited Apple devices, this is going to be launched on 12 September. The iPhone 5 will probably be thinner and have a bigger screen than the current model.

Reuters had reported says the next iPhone will come with a 19-pin connector port at the bottom instead of the proprietary 30-pin port “to make room for the earphone moving to the bottom”. iPhone 5 is also likely have a Quad-core processor, the A-6. HTC Accord:This one may be out on 19 September but unlike other HTC smartphones this is not an Android device. It is HTC’s first Windows 8 device.

The image of this device was tweeted out by @Football4PDA. The smartphone is rumoured to have 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor, with 8 and 16GB of space. The screen resolution is 720×1280 pixels and the camera is expected to be an 8 megapixel one – like the One X. The device will also support Near Field Communications (NFC).

Of course, the big question for everyone in India is when will these devices be launched here and at what price.
