Irrational Games’ upcoming FPS, BioShock Infinite, is now up for pre-order on Steam, and the company seems to be doing something similar to what other games have done to reward pre-orders. Just like Aliens: Colonial Marines and XCOM: Enemy Unknown did it, if enough people pre-order BioShock Infinite on Steam, everyone who pre-orders will get tier-based rewards.
The first tier of the pre-order bonus will get everyone who pre-orders BioShock Infinite on Steam a free copy of the original BioShock. The second tier gets you bonus items in Team Fortress 2 that are themed towards BioShock Infinite. The final tier, which can only be reached if enough people pre-order the game, is a free copy of Firaxis Games’ awesome turn-based strategy game—XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

Irrational recently released the Lamb of Columbia trailer for BioShock Infinite. Much like the teaser, the trailer shows us some of the gorgeous vistas from the floating city of Columbia where the game is set to take place. Another thing we get to see is the relationship between Elizabeth and DeWitt. Considering the power Elizabeth commands, I believe it's a good thing she's supposed to be on our side. Going by the trailer, the game will have a lot of varied environments, some out in the open and some indoors and claustrophobic.
Back in January, Irrational announced the system requirements for the PC version of the game and elaborated on some of the differences between the PC and console versions. The big difference between the PC and the console versions of the game is that the PC version gives players the ability to remap all the default action bindings, and both primary and alternate bindings are available simultaneously. The company has also made it a point to not include artificial mouse smoothing and has given the option to toggle mouse acceleration in the game's options menu.
The game will also include a bunch of options for those who prefer controllers. There are three separate controller layouts—Default, Marksman and Retro—each of which supports different configuration options. The options let players tweak things like aim assist, sensitivity, vibration and inversion. It also includes options to switch around controls for left-handed people, or for those who prefer the N64 controller layout.
The company is also giving the PC version a lot of options on the graphics side of things. The game will have full widescreen support by implementing the “horizontal plus” system. In the system, the wider the resolution, the more players will be able to see on the screen. It will also have multiple monitor support for setups compatible with AMD Eyefinity, Nvidia Surround and Matrox TripleHead2Go. There will also be separate controls for aspect ratio, resolution and display mode.
