At its annual BlackBerry Live Conference in Orlando, the company showcased its new smartphone, the BlackBerry Q5. And unlike the Z10 and Q10, this one is cheaper and aimed at emerging markets like India.

BlackBerry said the new Q5 smartphone will be available starting in July in selected markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

The smartphone has a QWERTY keyboard and 3.1-inch touchscreen keyboard as well. The smartphone will run BlackBerry’s latest Q10 OS.

The Q5 has a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera and a non-removable 2100 mAh battery. The screen resolution is 720×720 pixels.

Some of the software features of the Q5 include:

BlackBerry Time Shift mode and Story Maker : This is for the camera, which lets users choose from the perfect picture shot in a series of frames. Users can then weave together photos, videos and music into a movie with BlackBerry Story Maker.

BBM Video with Screen Share
Users will get BBM Video conversation option in the Q5 as well. This will let them video-chat via BBM and they can even share what’s on their screen with their friends as they video chat.

BlackBerry Hub:The one place for all messages, social media alerts, conversations, emails, etc. You can just swipe in here to check Facebook, Twitter, Gmail without opening each individual app.

And of course BlackBerry World, BlackBerry 10′s app store is also available on Q5.

The device will come in red, black, white and pink colours.
