If the previous BlackBerry Phone, Dakota from RIM’s stables wasn’t enough, the mobile manufacturers will also be adding the Storm 3 to their range of phones. It is said that the phone will be available sometime in September this year and there are also stories that there are two or three different versions of the phone globally.
Specs-wise the phone will be running the BlackBerry OS 6.1 on a 1.2 GHz processor. The phone also features an optical trackpad and 3G Mobile hotspot. Here’s a small look under the hood:
- 3.7-inch 800 x 480 capacitive display
- 3G and Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording
- expandable memory up to 8 GB
Storm 3 is also said to have a Magnetometer, Proximity Sensor and will support an Accelerometer. In addition to this, the phone will also be supporting Open GL ES 2.00
For now, let’s wait and see what happens on the RIM front. Although the news talks about a September 30th launch, the phone just might be a part of the exhibition in the MWC 2011.
