Almost half a year after announcing it, BlackBerry has finally officially launched its other BB10 smartphone—the Q10. The phone has a hefty price tag of Rs 44,990, which makes it more expensive than BlackBerry's flagship smartphone – the Z10. While the phone has been spotted as being on sale online, BlackBerry has stated that it will hit store shelves tomorrow. The Q10 is a blend of BlackBerry's traditional keyboard and the touchscreen interface of the Z10.
The BlackBerry Q10 may look average in comparison to the Z10, but its internals are equally impressive. The Q10 will probably run BB10.1 OS on launch. Its 3.1-inch touchscreen display has a 720 x 720-pixel resolution, giving it a rather high pixel density of 328 ppi. It is powered by a 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4470 dual-core processor and has a PowerVR SGX544 GPU.
The Q10 has finally been officially launched
On the back is an 8-megapixel camera capable of shooting full HD videos, while the front-facing one is a 2-megapixel affair for Skype and self-portraits. The camera gets the same software features we saw on the Z10, including Time Shift and video stabilisation. Internal storage is capped off at 16GB, but you can further expand the storage space up to 64GB thanks to the microSD card slot. The Q10 has a large 2100mAh Li-ion battery.
The QWERTY phone has a micro-weave pattern on the back, which BlackBerry says is unique to each handset. On the connectivity front, there’s Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band support, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP support, microUSB and miniHDMI ports, and support for NFC.
