It’s a well known fact that the PC launch of Black Ops wasn’t the smoothest one ever. In fact it was the polar opposite for many who couldn’t get the game to work at a stable framerate or even enjoy the game’s frantic multiplayer action.

I can now hopefully kill you lag free

Treyarch churned out a patch by the first weekend itself that really didn’t do much to improve our anguish. Now it seems the second patch is out and so far things are working pretty well for me. It will automatically be applied the next time you log onto Steam and here’s what it brings to the table.

Multiplayer

  • CPU performance improvements
  • Server browser bug fixes and tweaks to populate faster and do full refresh less often
  • Fixed crash when viewing leaderboards if player has more than 99 friends
  • Fix for locked ADS after pressing shift-TAB to bring up Steam overlay
  • Fix for ADS while holding shift as a sniper

Singleplayer

  • CPU performance improvements
  • Zombie matchmaking improvements
  • Fix for locked ADS after pressing shift-TAB to bring up Steam overlay
  • Fix for ADS while holding shift as a sniper

All technical issues aside we enjoyed the crap out of the game, as was evident in our review.
