The third Doodle4Google contest saw over 1.5 lakh entries from over 350 schools across India. Now, the contest moves into the next phase where you, online users can vote for your favourite Doodle to shortlist the top 45 entries. You can cast your votes from today until the 4th of November. In order to vote, you need to go to www.google.co.in/doodle4google. The 45 finalists have been shortlisted by judges from the art and media fraternity, namely, Prasoon Joshi (advertising figure), Nandita Das ( film actress) and Ganga Kadakia (artist). The final winner will be selected by Dennis Hwang, the original Google Doodler and his team. The winner's doodle will go live on Google India’s Homepage on 14th November 2011, which in our country is celebrated as Children’s Day.

Various artists and culture institutes helped in selecting the quarter finalists which include the Nirmala Niketan Polytechnic, National Institute Of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishad, Aakriti Art Gallery, Srusti Art Institute, Gayathri Art Galore, CANMAS (Contemporary And New Media Art School), Nasik's Kala Niketans-Chitrakala Mahavidyalya, Government Fine Art Institute – Indore, Sky Blue Institute Of Design, Bhavya Art & Craft College, Lalit Kalakshetra. The JJ school of Arts, Mumbai helped in the final shortlisting, which further went through the panel of judges. The final winner will be announced on the 9th of November, 2011 in Delhi.
