Acer has launched Ultrabooks in the past, but this time around at CES; the brand unveiled, what they refer to as the world’s thinnest Ultrabook, the Aspire S5. The highlighted feature of this new Ultrabook is that it measures only 15 mm at the maximal point and weighs less than 1.35 kg. It features a 13.3-inch LCD and has the unique Acer Green Instant On technology for fast boot and resume. Apart from this, it includes the Acer Always Connect feature, which allows users to manage their multimedia and data on all their devices anytime, anywhere — even on sleep mode.

The Aspire S5 is Acer's first Ultrabook to feature the MagicFlip I/O port panel that is concealed just below the hinge. In this panel, the HDMI, USB 3.0 and 20 Gbps Thunderbolt ports are located.
