At CES 2012 in Las Vegas, Victorinox, the Swiss Army Knife producing brand showcased a knife with its usual features as well as a USB drive. It's titled the SSD and connects to eSATA II/III and USB 2.0/3.0 with a single connector. It also has a 96 x 48 Bi-Stable monochrome graphic display, which helps keep track of what's on the flash drive and supports 256 AES encryption. According to Victorinox, you will not find these features anywhere else. The capacities of the flash drive include 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 1TB. The data transfer rates are 22MB/s for reading and 15MB/s for writing.
A knife with a drive
Each SSD comes equipped with two knife bodies, between which the drive can be interchanged-one is flight-friendly and the other includes traditional Swiss Army Knife implements (blade, scissors, nail file/screw driver combo). The company also showcased the Slim 3.0 USB drive, which goes up to 128GB and offers 10 times the data speed of its previous version. Both devices will be available in April 2012. The prices are yet to be announced.
