Panasonic had some goodies in store at CES in the form of its various camera announcements. The most interesting of the lot had to be the Panasonic TZ60 and TX55 which are travel zoom compacts featuring a 30x and 20x optical zoom respectively.

According to Panasonic, TZ60 is the world's slimmest premium digital compact featuring an 18.1MP MOS sensor, an ISO range of 100-3200 expandable to ISO 6400. It has 24-720mm Leica DC Vario-Elmar lens having aperture range of f/3.3- f/8. Just like some of the advanced point and shoots we have seen last year, the TZ60 also has a control ring around the lens barrel which can control exposure or aspect ratio or sensitivity and so on. The electronic viewfinder on the TZ60 boasts of a 100 per cent field of view and a 200k dot resolution.

The TZ60 also features Panasnonic's Hybrid OIS+ system which is a 5-axis image stabilisation system meant for videos. TZ60 can shoot full HD videos either at 50fps or 25fps. It is also capable of shooting stills in the RAW mode.

The USP of the TZ55 is that it has a tiltable screen which can flip up by 180 degrees – targetted at selfie obsessed individuals. It has a 20x optical zoom range and can shoot at a maximum burst rate of 10fps. It has a 16.1MP MOS sensor and can shoot full HD videos. It has a 3-inch 460k-dot screen on the rear.

Both the TZ60 and TZ55 come with the Venus image processing engine and have WiFi and NFC allowing you to share your images instantly to your cellphones or tablets and even remotely shoot using your mobile devices and the Panasonic Image app. The TZ60 also comes equipped with a GPS chip which complies with GLONASS for higher accuracy of locations.

The TZ60 is expected to cost around British Pound 349.99 (approx. Rs 35700). Pricing details of the TZ55 is yet to be announced.
