Ahead of the consumer electronics show (CES) 2017, Acer has announced three new Aspire devices with Windows 10. There are two new laptops, the Aspire V Nitro Black Edition, and the Aspire VX, and are oriented towards entertainment and gaming. The Aspire GX provides the additional performance and capabilities that desktops offer, and is a VR ready PC.
Aspire V Nitro Black Edition
The Aspire V Nitro Black Edition has a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU. The device ships with 16GB of DDR4 system memory but can be upgraded to 32 GB with two soDIMM modules. There is a SATA SSD drive, and a hard drive with up to 2 TB capacity. There is a built in fingerprint scanner, with support for the biometric log on system integrated into Windows 10, known as Windows Hello.
Below the keyboard is the Windows Precision Trackpad. The Aspire V Nitro Black Edition comes with optional Tobii eye tracking, which allows for easier navigation and software use. Tobii eye tracking also integrates with games, allowing users to aim, shoot and explore with their eyes, providing a more immersive gaming experience.
The device will be available in North America, EMEA and China from February. The Aspire V Nitro Black edition 15 inch variation is available with a base price of $1,199 (approx Rs 81,700) and the 17-inch version has a base price of $1,399 (roughly Rs 95,300).
The Aspire VX has a 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU. The device ships with 16GB DDR4, which can be upgraded to 32 GB by the user. There is a 512 GB SSD on board, and a 1 TB HDD. The Aspire VX is oriented towards gamers with a red backlit keyboard, and an edgy design. The Aspire VX will be available in North America, EMEA and China from January, and the prices start at $799 (roughly Rs 54,440).
Acer GX desktop
The Acer GX desktop PC has the 7th Generation Intel Core processors, and support up to 64 GB of DDR4 RAM. The GPU on board is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070. The desktop can provide 4K output on 4 monitors simultaneously. The Acer GX is a VR ready PC, with specifications that can support demanding immersive experiences. The Acer GX desktop will be available in EMEA and China from February, with prices starting at €799 (roughly Rs 56,738).
Acer has also announced the widely anticipated Predator 21 X gaming laptop which sports a curved display.
