Corsair today announced the Vengeance K70 – a fully mechanical gaming keyboard. The Vengeance K70 gaming keyboard is built on a brushed aluminium chassis and features Cherry MX Red mechanical switches under every key.

The keyboard also sports 100 percent anti-ghosting matrix, 20-key rollover, and 1,000Hz reporting rate. If you want to know what all of this means, you can check out our guide to gaming keyboards.

Cherry MX Red is a lighter version of the MX Black. It requires less force to actuate and keyboards that feature these keys tend to be expensive, since they aren’t easily available.

The keyboard is available in two colour options: silver aluminium with blue backlighting, and anodised black with deep red backlighting. Overall backlighting can be adjusted to four levels of intensity and each key is individually backlit, enabling the lighting for each key to be independently enabled or disabled.

The key-by-key lighting customisation allows users to highlight just the keys they need to emphasise and then save the setting directly to the K70's onboard memory. In addition, the Vengeance K70 comes with alternate coloured, contoured keycaps for the WASD and 1-6 keycaps to allow additional customisation.

The Vengeance K70 also features dedicated multimedia controls to allow users to play, stop, pause, skip tracks and adjust volume. An extra USB connector is provided for attaching to USB devices such as a gaming mouse or headset. A removable soft-touch wrist rest provides comfort for long gaming or typing sessions.

Ruben Mookerjee, VP and General Manager of the Peripherals Business Unit – Corsair said, “When we launched the Vengeance K60, customers loved the look and quality, but some wanted a backlit version. In typical Corsair fashion, we over-delivered and created Vengeance K70 with key-by-key backlighting, mechanical switches on every key, and two color schemes”

The Vengeance K70 comes as an upgrade to the older K60 which was launched alongside the K90 back in 2011. The Vengeance K60 mechanical keyboard is designed specifically for FPS gaming and features Cherry MX Red mechanical key switches which are among the best in the industry. The WSAD and number keys (1-6) are contoured and textured to offer you better grip.  It also has Full Key Matrix anti-ghosting which lets you use multiple keys simultaneously without any lag. It also comes with a soft cushioned wrist rest optimized for your left hand.

Corsair had launched a refresh for its Vengeance K90 keyboard earlier this year, dubbed the Vengeance K95. Clad in a black anodised brushed aluminium chassis and equipped with white LED lighting, the Vengeance K95 keyboard has been upgraded with Cherry MX Red mechanical switches on every key, including the function and macro keys.
