Churning out novels based on video games seems to a be a trend that’s really catching on now and keeping that tradition in mind, Deep Silver have tied up with Bantam publishing for the novelization of Dead Island according to Gamespot. As most of you already know, Dead Island is a new co-operative first person survival horror from Techland (makers of the Call of Juarez) series and sees players trapped on a picturesque island resort amidst a zombie invasion.

The pen is mightier than the sword after all

While surviving a zombie apocalypse may not be the most original idea on the planet, Dead Island is trying to distinguish itself from the pack with its unique setting and open world gameplay. The book, like the game will follow the exploits of four survivors as they try to escape the horror unfolding around them. I’m pretty sure the book won’t release here officially (the game certainly isn’t), so if you’re interested, your best bet would be Amazon or Flipkart.

Both the novel and the game will release by the 8th of September 2011.
