Remember the Dell Streak? The 5-inch tablet/smartphone hybrid that walked a very fine line between the two was a promising device that was unfortunately hampered by various issues. Dell went back to the drawing board and announced a successor to it at CES 2011 though and again, it looks to have a lot of potential.
While the unveiling of the Dell Streak 7 included a mention of a release date “in the coming weeks”, we certainly didn't expect it to be rumoured to have a February 2 release. That is what's rumbling the grapevine though, as an image seems to suggest the tablet will get released on the date. While the image doesn't really fill one with confidence in regards to its legitimacy, it still fits the “coming weeks” timeline, though it's a little earlier than what most people predicted.
The Dell Streak 7 has some pretty impressive specs like a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, a 7-inch WVGA touchscreen reinforced by Gorilla Glass, two cameras at 5 megapixel (rear) and 1.3 megapixel (front-facing) respectively, 16GB of internal memory (supports expansion via an SD card slot) along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G, 3G and HSDPA for connectivity.
The Dell Streak will be released locked to T-Mobile but we certainly hope it'll make it across to India, just like its predecessor did and soon.
