Bring out the popcorn, it’s time for another leaked video! This time it’s Samsung’s Galaxy R under the spotlight. This is the same Galaxy Z that surfaced last month which Samsung later on renamed for whatever reason. The video doesn’t really show much of the phone, but rather the demo video that Samsung bundles with their Android phones. The video is quite shaky as I suspect the guy filming it was either very nervous or it was quite chilly, you know how cold offices can get.
A cheaper Galaxy S II
For those unfamiliar with the Galaxy R, it’s the cheaper brother of the S II. The change includes Super Clear LCD, instead of Super AMOLED Plus, Tegra 2 in place of Sammy’s own Exynos processor, lower internal storage (8GB) and finally 720p recording instead of 1080p. The latter seems more like lock down from Samsung’s end since Tegra 2 can no doubt handle 1080p. The rest of the features include,
- 4.2-inch SC-LCD, capacitive touchscreen
- 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot, GPS with A-GPS support
- Bluetooth 3.0 + HS
- 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash
- Stereo FM Radio with RDS
- Secondary front facing camera
- 8GB Internal storage
- Memory expandable to 32GB via MicroSD card
- 3.5 mm audio jack
We’ve also learnt that the Galaxy R is all set to launch in a few months (maybe sooner) starting with Europe followed by South West Asia, Middle East and China. Enjoy this video for now.
