Yes, you read the title right! Sources say that Denzel Washington’s 2010 thriller, Unstoppable will be available for transfer to your Android device via Wi-Fi. How, you ask? The makers of the Blu-ray disc have added this feature on the digital copy through BD Live. All you need is a Blu-ray disc of the movie, a Wi-Fi enabled Blu-ray player, Android Donut (1.6) or higher and of course, the PocketBLU application which is available for free download on the Android Market. I know that’s a lot to ask for just to transfer a movie that you may have already seen (since you will need a copy of the Blu-ray for the transfer anyway), but it’s nice to know that the option is available. And it is an industry first as well, so I guess it is quite a big deal.
This one's off the rails
Here’s what you can expect to watch on your Android screen apart from the actual movie:
- Derailed: Anatomy of a Scene
- Hanging Off the Train: Stunt Work
- On the Rails with the Director and Cast
- The Fastest Track: Unleashing Unstoppable
- Director Commentary Track
- Tracking the Story: Unstoppable Script Development
And in case you’re wondering what the movie is all about, it’s an academy award nominated flick directed by Tony Scott and features Denzel Washington and Chris Pine. The movie is about a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals and how two men try to stop it.
So would you buy the disc just to watch it on your Android device?
