As per the latest ruling by a Dutch court, Rechtbank's-Gravenhage, located in the city of The Hague, Samsung has been found guilty of infringing on one Apple patent pertaining to the Gallery app on their smartphones. The ruling states that with effect from October 13th, this year, a ban will be imposed on the sale of the Samsung Galaxy S, Galaxy S II and Galaxy Ace smartphones unless Samsung does something to fix the issue.
A ban inevitable, unless Samsung acts fast..
The court ruling states that if Samsung manages to implement the required changes to the above mentioned smartphones it would get permission to resume with sales. Further in the ruling process, the court did point out that Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 10.1v have not infringed on any Apple patents. According to FossPatents' blog post, the preliminary injunction filed against Samsung mentioned above would affect nations where the software patent, EP 2059868 is valid. The patent in question, it is being learnt, deals with the mode of image viewing on the above mentioned smartphones, more precisely the flip-mode.
