You saw the moving Dead Island trailer. You cringed and maybe even shed a tear at the plight of the unfortunate family who were forced to kill their own daughter after she turned into the undead. Now you would think a body like the ESRB (Entertainment Software Ratings Board) would have a problem with that trailer but surprisingly they have an issue with the game’s logo that has now been modified for North American audiences.
They can't handle the umm logo?
The old logo had a zombie or an unfortunate victim hanging from a coconut tree but that’s now been changed to a shambling zombie just walking in front of the tree. This incidentally isn’t the first time the logo for a zombie game has been tweaked. A similar form of censorship was doled out on Valve’s co-operative zombie shooter, Left 4 Dead 2 where Valve actually had to add fingers to a mauled zombie hand.
Dead Island releases for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC sometime in 2011.
