One of the biggest sources of leaks for Microsoft’s next-gen console goes by the alias SuperDaE on the Internet. But SuperDaE might not get to leak anything for a while, as according to Eurogamer, his house has been raided by the FBI and the Australian police for offering a Durango developer kit on eBay for sale in mid-2012.

Microsoft, PayPal and eBay have filed charges against SuperDaE, according to a copy of his warrant, which he supplied to The Tech Game. The fact that Microsoft has filed charges against him gives all the leaks and rumours revealed by SuperDaE more credibility. Dan “SuperDaE” Henry could reportedly be looking at a sentence of more than 20 years in prison.

Apparently, the Durango sale on eBay was never completed, even though the dev kit was listed on the auctioning website for a giant $20,000 price tag. According to a tweet by SuperDaE, “It was mostly publicity anyway, no one thought the eBay auctions would ever sell, and they never did.”

SuperDaE had revealed in July 2012 that Microsoft’s next-gen gaming console will feature an eight-core processor. The next generation console is also rumoured to include support for Blu-ray, true 1080p and native 3D output, and is expected to be around six times more powerful than the current Xbox 360.

DaE said that the dev kits were sent to studios in February 2012 and feature Intel CPUs and a graphics card from NVIDIA. He also claims that the Durango kit has more than 8GB of memory, and that the hardware is 64-bit in nature. It is worth noting that developer hardware typically features double the RAM of retail hardware so that the former can accommodate debugging tools and other systems. No official information is available on Microsoft’s next console.

Microsoft will have to buck up and announce the next Xbox soon if it is to catch up with Sony. The recently announced PlayStation 4 runs on an AMD-based x86 processor and will have 8GB of unified high-speed memory and a “massive” hard drive. The new controller—dubbed the DualShock 4 will have a touch pad with a share button, a headphone jack and a light bar to identify players. The light bar also works much like the Move sensor.

The console will also feature some new quality-of-life changes. It is said to have a low power-state and auto saves games and you don’t have to wait for the game to load the next time you switch it on . According to the company, the console can also download games in the background, even when the system is powered off. Games can also be played while they’re being downloaded.

The Share button on the controller will let you upload any video you from your console quickly to video services. Videos are automatically uploaded while you play a game.
