It was only recently that Microsoft held its head high after its newly launched browser IE9 broke all download records. But, just yesterday, celebrations in the Microsoft camp came to an abrupt screechy halt. The reason? The staggering high download figures of competitor Firefox, within a day of its launch. Also, screaming, rather glowing in celebration is Mozilla’s glow page that has been tracking the number of downloads!
And the Fire'fox' raced ahead…
Mozilla Firefox 4 that was launched just yesterday is already clocking a download figure of 6,148, 539 (at, the last check!). Although these figures seem to be way lesser than those of the last Firefox update, it would be an unfair comparison. For, the last version update was a heavily promoted one.
Firefox 4 claims that its latest iteration, Firefox 4 would offer:
Better security and privacy options
- Faster loading
- Web graphics support, includes latest ones like WebM video and WebGL
