After the resounding success the Fujifilm X 100 fetched them, the Japanese camera manufacturer has officially launched the X-Pro 1 in India with the hope to replicate the success. This camera was first showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, earlier this year and the brand has now made this camera available to Indian audiences. This is the first camera from the brand that uses an interchangeable lens system and with the X-Pro 1, Fujifilm have launched a range of X mount lens.

Fujifilm claims, “These fast, prime lenses, equivalent to a 27, 53, and 90 lens in a full sensor D-SLR camera, available as a addition feature along with X-Pro 1. These interchangeable lenses are having 18 millimetre f2, 35 millimetre f1.4 and 60 millimetre f2.4. The X-mount featured on the X-Pro 1 has a thin profile and quick shutter time lag.” They state that owing to the unprecedented success of the FinePix X 100, the brand has reimagined the digital camera and this time with a mirrorless interchangeable lens system. The X-Pro 1 body features a 16 megapixel APS-CMOS sensor with Fujifilm’s EXR processing technology. They state that the X-Pro sensor gives a clearer image with the 6 x 6 colour array as compared to standard 2 x 2 array. The X-Pro 1’s hybrid multi-viewfinder, allows the users to instantly switch between an electronic and optical viewfinder.
Speaking on the launch of the X-Pro 1, Mr. Kenichi Tanka, Managing Director, Fujifilm India, said, “The huge response we received from users of X-100 leads us to develop X-Pro 1 with some added features. With X-Pro 1 we are entering into the digital mirror-less camera market which has shown a rapid growth due to their portability in term of size and weight. Similarly XF Lenses designed especially for the X-Pro1, promises enhanced resolution and light volume in image edge areas as well as reduced chromatic aberration for exceptional image quality. It will definitely be a hit in the digital camera market like its predecessor X-100 and repeat the success.”
The camera sports a retro design, much like the X 100 and it features a 3-inch LCD display at the back. Fujifilm claims that it will be a best option for a high-end second camera for professional photographers and serious amateurs. Fujifilm prices the X-Pro 1 in India at approximately Rs.1,00,000 and for more information, click here.
