Galatta.com, a portal that provides you with Bollywood news as well as the latest happenings in music, movies and celebrities has launched an iPhone app to give you your entertainment fix on-the-go. The app is designed to give you the latest information on your favourite movies, upcoming movies, celebrities and press releases. The app provides you with the latest cine news at your fingertips. You can go behind the scenes of your favourite movies and find some images that you might enjoy. The app helps you stay updated with news from not only Bollywood, but from the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi film industries as well. Like any good news app should allow you to do, Galatta lets you save the news stories that you don't have time to read rightaway, later when you do have time. Furthermore, the app allows you to share the stories that you find interesting to the social networks, i.e. Facebook and Twitter. The app also comes with a search function to help you search for your favourite news.

The app itself is very cinematically laid out, with predominantly a black background and large white and yellow fonts. You can also make the fonts bigger and smaller, as you choose, from the tabs in the bottom bar. It is divided into sections containing Top News and then news from the Tamil, Telugu and other regional film industries. In the Options tab, you'll find the search function where you can search for your favourite news, the Favorites section where your favourite stories will be and the report bugs option. After you're done reading the news in the Favourites section, you swipe the story to delete. The app runs on the iPhone, iPod Touch and the iPad and requires iOS 3 and up. It is available for free from the iOS App Store. Will you download the Galatta app? Do you like receiving entertainment news on your phone?
