One of the many reasons why Google always seems to be at the top of their game is due to simple, but relevant innovations that they roll out every now and again for their variety of services. One of the latest additions to their Gmail service, as announced on their blog, is an all new ‘People’ widget. To help make the email service just a little more interesting and personal, the Gmail People widget, situated on the right hand side of your messages will offer a little more information about your contacts listed. It’s designed to add content from friends, family and colleagues that may already be available to you but it can sometimes be a little hard. So the widget should make it easier to connect with them.
It's all about being more personal
Over the next couple of weeks Google developers will be rolling this new widget out to users across the globe. Next to every email message you’ll be able to see contextual information about the people in that conversation including recent emails you might have received from them, relevant Buzz posts, shared documents and even calendar events. If that wasn’t enough you’ll also have easy access to a variety of ways to communicate with individuals, start a group chat or even schedule a meeting with groups of people.
