Google have released a new stable version for Chrome, and even though they don’t mention the version number anywhere in their blog post, it certainly is Google Chrome 9. Chrome 9, which has been in a beta stage for quite a while now and in developer testing stage for even longer, finally has gotten itself a stable version release.
The features of Chrome 9 are as follows –
- WebGL: Brings hardware accelerated 3D rendering to the browser
- Chrome Instant: Your most frequently visited websites begin loading as soon as you type in a few letters. This also extends to your omnibox searches, if supported by your preferred search engine. Google obviously supports this.
- Chrome Web Store: Open to US users, the Chrome Web Store is an app store in the mould of Apple’s App Store, or Android’s newly opened web-based Android Market.
