It's been a little while, but Google's got a Doodle out for the 450th anniversary of St. Basil's Cathedral. The Cathedral of the Protection of Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat, or better known as St. Basil's Cathedral, is a Russian Orthodox Church in Moscow. It was constructed on Moscow's Red Square in 1555-1561. It marks the geometric center of the city and was built under the orders of Ivan IV of Russia to celebrate the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan. The Church was secularized in 1929, and as of 2011 still remains a property of the Russian Federation.

The Doodle itself is simple, but pretty. It's not interactive like some of the other favorites, The Doodle shows the foundation of the Cathedral. Even though the colour of the Cathedral is bright, the Doodle is almost muted.
