If you ever entered a laboratory in school, you probably used one of those apparatuses called the Bunsen Burners. This little contraption, invented way back in 1855, was a huge leap over similar lab equipment and continues to be used today. One of the creators of the Bunsen Burner, Robert Wilhelm Eberhard Bunsen – or Robert Bunsen for short – was born on this very day 200 years ago, and Google have Doodled in celebration of his 200th birthday.
Today’s Doodle is an animated one, featuring lab equipment at work. Bunsen’s invention, one made possible by his lab assistant Peter Desega too, obviously does feature rather prominently in there. And while the spelling out of the word ‘Google’ is a bit contrived and you have to look really long and hard to spot it, it’s still a rather cool Doodle. What did you think?
