It looks like Google isn’t resting easy after gobbling up a large slice of Apple’s phone market pie with the success of the Android platform. If news is to be believed, Apple might be working on a music service site. There is supposedly testing of the service being done internally and the service might be very close to release. There are those who believe that the service will be made public well before the end of this year. The discovery came when users of XDA Developers forum were trying to get Gingerbread installed on a phone.
Google might threaten Apple's iTunes by the end of the year
Google already has a localized Indian music streaming service at www.google.co.in/music. There is also a Chinese portal that has been around for sometime now. The upcoming service will include sales of music and Google is apparently in talks with the major record labels. The new service should take on Apple’s iTunes music service when it launches. This might be a difficult thing since record companies might have issues with Google asking for permission to store the music on its servers.
