Grolly's Animal Adventures is an iPad app for children, which “combines a story, graphics, multiple animated touch features and a learning effect”. The app promises to turn children into animal experts with an interactive picture book, more than 25 animations and 50 animals in every chapter and a narrated encyclopedia with information on every animal and plant. Grolly itself is a character in the app; it is a “cuddly monster” who accompanies its human friend Emma, as they explore the jungles of Vietnam, the ruins of Cambodia and the bamboo fields of China. Every animal that they come across, when touched, will react with an appropriate sound and animation. In addition to the reactions, there are a few surprises the app has in store. The app is translated into 11 languages which include English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Catalan, Finnish, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Polish. Narration is available in English and German. The first chapter is available for free and the rest of the chapters will need to be purchased. There will be a new chapter every two months. The app will officially be in the iOS App Store on Thursday, the 3rd of November.
